Cancer Reconstruction
Soft tissue defects after surgery for cancers or tumors, sarcomas or skin abnormalities fall within the realm of a Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon. Ideally, we are involved in the initial surgery, in order to plan the reconstruction from the start.
More often than not, will we be called once the cancer is excised, and the patient is left with missing tissue or extensive scarring. In these cases, we can plan to restore form and function to allow a life as normal as possible.
